Our mission is to provide integrative mindfulness and movement experiences to businesses, organizations, and individuals. 

Our vision

Our vision is to foster well-being in all society with integrative mindfulness and movement experienced into every aspect of daily life, to awaken mankind to adopt sustainable lifestyles, and to inspire inter-generational equity.

Our philosophy expresses in our encounters with people. Together, we form partnerships, create long-lasting values via integrative mindfulness and movement, explore life experiences.

OUR VALUES

Our eight core values form the bedrock upon which resides The Institute for Integrative Mindfulness and Movement and fall under the acronym STANDING because we stand for a cause: the cause of living happy, active, healthy lifestyles through the cultivation of mindfulness and movement to foster the flourishment of well-being into society.

Sustenance

Sustenance is defined as a means of supporting life, providing nourishment that gives support, strength and endurance with a timeless quality to existence. Sustenance is our first value and is the foremost reason The Institute came into existence: to venture in the pursuit of a quest – the quest to connect to what matters in life. In the pursuit to connect to what matters in life, we find a response that makes a lot of sense: life takes its full meaning whenever mind and body feel fed, en(rich)ed and fulfilled in respect to honoring one’s vital needs, one’s of nature and one’s of humanity. Sustenance is at the origin of life, being the food of all existence, so this is where we start. We provide mindfulness and movement programs to nourish the mind and the body. Our initial purpose is to be a source of wellness and inspiration. Our educational aim is to generate food for thought and to contribute to the development of the community in a healthy way: giving support, strength, and endurance to sustain, with a timeless quality, the welfare of the multitude of environments we live in.

Tenacity

Tenacity characterizes our force of character. We do not give up. We act with determination in the face of challenges just as much as in the presence of ease. We remind ourselves to be persistent, perseverant and resilient just as much as we are reminded to be patient, wise and grateful. We find courage in the freshness of our entrepreneurial spirit to take risks, dare the unknown, and meet new boundaries.

Accountability

We are conscious that the well-being of the community is contingent on our commitment to you. We prioritize what will make a difference and we assume our responsibility to follow through. We recognize that our actions have a direct impact on our surroundings.  We take initiative in completing what we said we would do. Our Accountability exists because we do what we said, we are reliable, we show up. We take ownership of our role, of our programs and of the present-moment experience we share in common by engaging into sustaining healthy lifestyles. By living up to our commitments, we demonstrate ownership and accountability, forming respect and building trust.

Novelty

We approach life in the light of Novelty. Each moment is anew and so are we. We explore what’s here – in the moment before us, in our mind and body, in our environment. Staying tuned to internal and external factors allows us to collect data and bring in innovation to respond in accordance to circumstances. In that mind-frame, our creativity and imagination come to play: our programs are original and unique. We constantly find practical ways to optimize mind-body functions in order to build new neural pathways, best serve the health of our brain-plasticity and enlarge possibilities daily. We act as pioneers. We keep current. We perpetually adapt. We gather resources that will broaden perspectives and seek to live each experience with fresh eyes and an open mind. We encourage our community to adopt a novelty mindset so, together, we can make the “integrative” of Integrative Mindfulness and Movement alive, take our learnings out to the world, and foster well-being for all.

Our Dedication emanates from our drive to foster well-being, from our eagerness to share with the community, from our engagement toward you. We are passionate people. Every day, our dedication shows in the enjoyment we get by applying ourselves to the work we do, to the people we spend time with, to the values we cultivate. Yes, we advocate active healthy lifestyles, but even before going forth into the world, even before sharing what we are passionate about with others, we adopt a lifestyle true to what we advocate. We couldn’t make sense of advocating mindfulness and movement if we didn’t practice ourselves: we play and research ways to integrate mindfulness and movement every day.  Our dedication radiates from within before it emanates and spreads out to the community because we embody active healthy lifestyles, too. We feel healthy, strong, and radiant. We are devoted to convey our mission to the community and to realize our vision for the welfare of society.

Integrity

Integrity is the pledge of the accuracy in our action, morality and honesty. Integrity is the linking value working in tandem with any of our other values. We are consistent with our values in the decisions we make and actions we take. We display the highest standards of professional behavior and business ethics. We practice fairness to limit inequality and develop inclusivity. We care to have genuine interactions and build trust in our relationships with an open line of communication. We support freedom of expression and diversity of thought in civil discourse and mutual respect for all. We act with honesty and transparency, in the spirit to foster teamwork that will lead to novelty and advance mind-body health for all.

Nowness

Nowness is the quality of living in the moment, of being present to one’s immediate experience in the here and now. We cultivate and incorporate nowness in our lifestyle, in our work, so we can better connect to our inner and outer experiences, to the people and environment making our surrounding. The energy of nowness allows us to live an awoken life and empowers us: we gain clarity and become free to discern our possibilities. We can make conscious choices that are non-harmful to others’ well-being to positively influence the world we live in and the world we will, or if not us, others will be living in. In our work, with groups or individuals, we wake up to the moment and make an active choice on how to act, or not act, moment by moment, even in the presence of similarity or repetition. Not one moment, not one being is exactly the same at any given time or place. We can always learn, unlearn and relearn. When we cultivate wakefulness and curiosity toward the present-moment experience, we can pass by any plateau we may encounter and grow.

Generosity

The Institute of Mindfulness and Movement was born of an act of Generosity: having the intention to advance health. Caring for one’s good health, is an act of generosity and love toward oneself and others. With mind-body movement and mindfulness, we derail the autopilot mode and make a conscious choice to adopt an active healthy lifestyle. Creating the conditions and living in a well-inhabited body to house a healthy mind ultimately impact personal and collective well-being. Our work is driven by a spirit of generosity and inclusivity. We intend to make a difference and give an equal chance to anyone. Beyond advancing health, we seek to advance education, knowledge, and skills.
